FROSTENS BAND – Frostens Band (AMR, 1979)

Swedish vocals
International relevance: *

Frostens Band has only one album to their credit, most notable for featuring guitarist Hållbus Totte Mattsson who rose to fame in the 80's with folk rock band Hedningarna. Guitarist and singer Jörgen Näslund also has Hedningarna connections, he wrote ”Täppmarschen” on their third album.

”Frostens Band” was once dubbed the worst progg album ever but that's not fair, it's not even close. What this band does lack though, is personality and passion. Ingrid Torarp's cello is a nice addition but the songs are mediocre and the performances are bland with prissy vocals all around. The best feature is Tommie Andersson's baroque guitar playing on ”Frostens band”, the track. He later dedicated himself entirely to early guitar and lute music, and moved to Australia in the mid-80's.
